Policies

At BelugaCare, clear policies help ensure a smooth, professional, and positive experience for every family. The following guidelines outline what to expect when booking care with Eliza.

Bookings do not require advance notice, though an additional fee may apply for last-minute requests. Families are strongly encouraged to reserve care as far in advance as possible, particularly during peak ski season (December through April) when Eliza’s calendar fills quickly. Bookings for events or large groups must be scheduled at least one month in advance to allow for adequate preparation. For local care, cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance may be subject to fees, as late changes limit the ability to accommodate other families. For travel-based care, cancellations must be made at least one month in advance. Exceptions may be granted for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances. Eliza only cancels in the case of a true emergency, and while she cannot guarantee a replacement caregiver or rate, she will make every effort to assist in finding a reasonable alternative.

For travel, vacation, and overnight care, overtime rates apply. Overtime is charged at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate after 40 hours of care within a 7-day period. All hours worked, including travel time and overnights, count toward overtime.

Payment is due within 48 hours of receiving a receipt. Receipts are automatically provided for reservations of three or more days; for shorter bookings, families may request one as needed. Accepted forms of payment include PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check.

BelugaCare provides safe, reliable transportation as part of its services. Families may be subject to a travel fee or mileage reimbursement when Eliza’s personal vehicle is used for errands or outings. For the transportation of children, a provided vehicle is required for insurance purposes.

Within the home, Eliza prioritizes child-related responsibilities such as tidying play areas, preparing meals, and assisting with children’s laundry. Light household management and pet care are also available when agreed upon in advance. Safety and health remain central to her care: she maintains current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications, and requests that families reschedule when possible if a child is experiencing a highly contagious illness. Families are also asked to provide key emergency information, including contact numbers, insurance details, birthdays, and relevant medical histories.

Above all, BelugaCare values trust, communication, and respect in every household served. Parents can expect Eliza to honor confidentiality, respect family culture and parenting style, and maintain open communication through updates and check-ins according to preference. While she frequently captures photos of children’s activities for parents to enjoy, these are never shared publicly and remain strictly private. Privacy and security are of the utmost importance to BelugaCare.
